RULES

REGLEMENT 2011

1) Race dates:

  • Saturday 19 February 2011
  • Sunday 20 February 2011
    (each year on the third weekend of February)

2) Distances:

  • 42 and 30 km C.T. on Saturday
  • 42 and 30 km F.T. on Sunday
    NB: all races are valid for the “Euroloppet”
     

3) Start and Finish:

  • St. Martin/Gsies, 1,220 m asl (loop)

4) Starting time:

  • C.T. race 10.00 am – wave start – 3 groups
  • F.T.  race 10.00 am – wave start – 5 groups

5) Qualification:

  • Entry in the 30 km is open to skiers over 16 years of age.
  • To take part in the 42 km competitors must be over 18 years of age.

6) Techniques:
Saturday 19 February 2011:   C.T.
You are not permitted to skate on the tracks for the classic race. Whoever uses the free technique will be disqualified by the umpires positioned at various places along the whole length of the course.

Sunday 20 February 2011:     F.T.

7) Entry fees and deadlines (42 and 30 km C.T - F.T.):

(*) If a Athlete of the C.T. registers short-dated, at the F.T. race, the amount of 35,00 Euro has to be paid on Sunday.
  • Entry will be confirmed when payment is received by our office.
  • It is not necessary to specify the race distance chosen (42/30 km) at the moment of registration.
  • Race bibs for juniors can be collected upon showing a valid identity document.
  • EUROLOPPET Pass holders pay the most reasonable entry fee (€44,50 CT  -  € 45 FT  -   €73 both races) for late entries (when issuing start numbers)

    Online registration will not be accepted after 23:59 on Friday 18. February 2011

9) The entry fee includes:

  • Race bib, athlete’s pack,
  • chip at not charge
  • 5 refreshment stations,
  • ski maintenance and waxing service,
  • medical care,
  • medal
  • diploma (to be downloaded from the Web),
  • skier badge,
  • showers and relaxation at the Race Finish area, 
  • a substantial lunch (lunch for one escort costs only € 10)
  • automatic participation in draw for 7 mountain bikes
    (1 MTB for Children-Mini Gsieser, 2 for C.T. race and 4 for F.T. race)

10) Race cancellation:
Should the race be cancelled for any reason (luckily it has never happened in 27 editions!),
a) 80% of the fee will be refunded or
b) transferred to the next event

  11 am – 8 pm (F.T.)

- When collecting your start number you must show proof of payment!

14) Time keeping/Chip:

  • Time keeping is done by DATASPORT. The chip is a active-trasponder and need therefore be returned to the organizer. Participants have not to pay a deposit for the chip.
  • The participant which doesn't returne the transponder has to pay it (€ 30).

15) Results:

  • the first lists of results will be available immediately at the information stand at the finish
  • the results sorted out according to age will appear immediately after the race in the Internet (www.valcasies.com).

16) Clothes transport:
For environmental protection reasons, clothes bags must be requested personally when the bibs are collected. The bag may be dropped off in the Start area on the marked truck. The bags will be returned at the Race Finish area in front of the Raiffeisen Bank.

17) Time limits:

  • the 42 km races (CT and FT) to St Magdalena will be closed at 1.30 pm at the junction at 27.2 km.
  • Finish area: 3.30 pm

18) Refreshment and control stations:

  • IMPORTANT: lunch is served in the Finish area for atletes with the "meal-ticket" 

19) Prizes:

  • A medal for each competitor
  • Draw for 7 mountain bikes among all participators who have collected a start number ( 1 MTB for Mini-Children Gsieser, 2 for C.T. race and 4 for F.T. race)
  • C.T.: 1 sprint prize (South Tirol) - money prize of € 1,000 for the 5 best placed competitors
  • F.T.: 1 sprint prize (Marlene) - money prize of € 1,000 for the 5 best placed competitors
  • F.T.: 1 sprint prize (Mila) - money prize of € 1,000 for the 5 best placed competitors

20) Training:
Most of the Gsiesertal-Lauf course will be covered with snow and groomed daily from the beginning of December. A ski pass is required to ski on the groomed trails, except for the race weekend (18th – 20th Feb 2011).

21) Rescue service:
Your own health and safety comes first! Each year we draw up our own “security plan” according to the latest information and approved by the jury. This sets out the precise responsibilities of the

  • emergency doctor,
  • the White Cross,
  • the mountain rescue service of Upper Purstertal,
  • the helicopter service of the Customs mountain rescue service,
  • the 3 volunteer fire services of Gsiesertal as well as
  • the Carabinieri and the traffic police.

22) Information stand:
Situated in the Finish area with the following services:

  • return of lost property
  • return of equipment left in deposit (skis, ski poles, etc.)
  • sale and stamping of Euroloppet passes
  • sales of meal tickets for “spectators“ (€ 10)
  • sale of souvenirs
  • general information

23) Accommodation:
The choice of accommodation is at the discretion of the participant. We suggest you contact one of the

23) Protests:
Any protest must be submitted in writing by the participant to the race jury within one hour after the arrival of the first participants of the different distances. A protest fee of 62 € must be paid at the time when the protest is submitted. The protest fee will be returned if the protest is decided in favor of the protesting party.

24) Responsibility:

  • Upon entry, the participant declares possession of the medical fitness certificate in accordance with the Italian Law of 18 February 1982, thus exempting the Organizing Committee from responsibility in the event of any accidents incurred during or after the race or damages caused by participants to any third party or third party properties.
  • Upon entry, the participant consents to the disclosure of personal information to third parties for processing in accordance with the Italian Law no.196/2003 regarding the Protection of Personal data.
  • By registering, the participant agrees to release the organizer, sponsors, public institutions and land owners from all liabilities.
  • FIS (International Ski Federation) rules apply for any rules not mentioned here.
