A new look for the Gsiesertal Lauf

Preparations are all going to plan, and participants from 36 nations have already signed up. 35 km of tracks have been groomed to perfection so far, and the remaining 7 km will be ready by 25.01.2020. Advance registration at favourable rates is possible until 31.01.2020. As ever, our joint tickets (Entrance to the Antholz Biathlon World Cup and participation in the Gsiesertal Lauf) are available for purchase until 31.01.2020.

 

Official start times:

Saturday, 15.02.20: 
10.00 am: Start Classic
03.30 pm: Gsiesertal Kids Run   

Sunday, 16.02.20:
10.30 am: Start Skating (TV Live)

 

TV - Live national coverage on RAI: 
Italian national broadcasting company RAI is once again honouring the high level and special status of the Gsiesertal Lauf, and will be broadcasting both live coverage of the skating event on Sunday 16.02.2020 from 11.30 am to 1 pm and recorded coverage of Saturday’s classic race. Last year, the live broadcast clocked up an audience of 700.000 viewers.

 

Top Stars: 
An array of outstanding athletes will be taking their positions at the starting line. At the time of writing, the line-up includes Justyna Kowalczyk POL (Olympic Gold Vancouver + Sochi), Oskar Kardin SWE and Alexey Chervotkin RUS (Olympic Silver PyeongChang) 3 of the 4 title holders from 2019. Joining them will be the Matteo Tanel ITA, who took the title of World Roller Ski Champion in 2019, Alexandr Legkow RUS (Olympic Champion 50 km Sochi) and Eugeni Dementiev (Olympic Champion Turin). 

 

Gsiesertal Kids Run:
The Gsiesertal Kids Run is the highlight of the year for young cross-country fans. We are expecting around 300 participants from 15 nations.

As the Biathlon World Cup in Antholz is taking place at the same time, we recommend booking accommodation as soon as possible.
